Camping in the basement...
So now, we have a tent there. Some small holes where made on the floor to hold the tent. Sun and Flower (specially Flower because it was the first time she saw the tent) were delighted with it. For her it's like a small house.
I, personally am not fond of it. Although in the past every summer we went camping especially on weekend I'm kind of claustrophobic and I get an head ache every time I'm inside the tent.
Well, as we don't have a house in a tree, we have a tent in the basement.

Does my garden smell...
I know that it might sound strange but I live in a city where several areas don't have public sanitation. One of those areas are the one I live in. Brand new houses but no basic public sanitation. Our water from the bathroom, sink, washing machines, etc. go to 3 sealed big "cesspits" located in our front garden (shared by 12 houses). Too or three times a week a big cistern truck comes and discharges the cesspits, if they take too long to come, the cesspits content starts smelling.
Two weeks ago, finally, the public sanitation was done and now we can connect our tubes to the main public sanitation network. But...we have to pay a fee. A big fee.
Besides having to pay a monthly sanitation fee we have to pay to get connected. We are going to be charged for one thing that should have been done during the house construction 7 years ago, but there is nothing we can do about it. We have to pay.
The brand new houses that are being built now, some of them already have sanitation but the builder has to pay for it not the Chamber or other public identity. Some areas of the city are still waiting to get their s*h*i*t in the right place.

Favorite Ingredients Friday (Grilled Shrimp with Hot Sauce)
Ingredients:

Piri-piri sauce
1/2 cup coarsely chopped fresh hot red chiles
4 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup olive oil
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
2 clovesgarlic finely minced
2 small fresh red chiles, finely chopped, or 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 cup olive oil
2 poundsjumbo shrimp (prawns), peeled and deveined
Salt to taste
Lemon wedges and coarse country bread
Method:
1. To make the sauce, in a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the chiles, garlic, salt, olive oil, and vinegar. Cover, shake well, and let rest in the refrigerator for about 1 week before using. You should have about 1 1/2 cups. (You will not use it all; store the remainder for up to 2 months.) Shake well before using.
2. In a mortar, grind together the garlic and chiles or cayenne pepper to make a paste. Stir in the olive oil. Rub this mixture over the shrimp, place them in a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for 4 hours.
3. Preheat a broiler (or grill pan), or prepare a fire in a grill. Remove the shrimp from the marinade, reserving the marinade. Thread the shrimp onto skewers, piercing the shrimp twice, once near the tall and again near the head. Sprinkle with salt. Broil or grill, turning once and basting with the marinade, until opaque throughout 5 to 6 minutes total.
4. Arrange the skewers on a serving platter and garnish with the lemon wedges Serve the bread and piri-piri sauce for dipping on the side.
Check Overwhelmed with Joy for more recipes.

Love Thursday: Random Things
It doesn't matter if it's spring, summer, autumn or winter, it doesn't matter if it's raining or sunny, if it's windy or cloudy, the sound of the sea is unique for me. It can whisper or it can shout, depends on its mood. I'm thankful I live 15 minutes from the sea.

My computer is a threat to my kids...
The interesting thing is that I think the computer is a threat to my kids. Even if they are busy watching tv, colouring or playing PS2, if they noticed that I'm on the computer they lose interest in what they are doing and come to me with questions, ideas to play, etc. The desktop is in my room so that I can stay up late at night (it's 1:11am now) without coming downstairs. When they are trying to sleep, if I go downstairs, they call me immediately, so, with the computer in my room I just say from one room to another: get back to sleep!!
I know I have and I want to be with them all my free time but sometimes they are also busy. But they like to have me around even if I'm doing something else, so most of the time we are on the first floor, where we have the living room, and there is no computer there so, even if they are busy, I can't work online. If I go to the second floor they go after me. Ahrr...I need a Laptop.

My Special Blogs ... worth reading
There are some blogs I like reading in a daily basis or every other day. I got really attached to them, to the people around them, the blogger, the family, the life they have and I really what to know if they are ok or not.
I'm going to start pointing out those blogs, I don't know yet if in a weekly base or in a certain week day.
Today I'm going to point out:
The Thinking Blog - Great Blog, great posts. I love to take a look.
Tricia - I discovered Tricia's blogs last week and I got really attached to them. Great templates and content.
Colleen - I keep visiting the forum to clarify some doubts I have and to know the news from the "paid post's" companies.
Tina Silva - Also discovered Tina's blogs a couple of weeks ago and have to visit her blogs almost everyday.
That's all for today.

The Portuguese Revolution of 25th April
Today it is "O Dia da Liberdade" (Freedom Day) also known as the "Revolução dos Cravos" (Carnations Revolution).
Today it is commemoration day and it's a national holiday in Portugal.
Today we remember the ones that fought for our freedom.
Today there will be Carnations everywhere.
Here is a English description of this special day. If you want...read more.
In the early morning hours of 25 April 1974 Jose Afonso's banned protest song "Grandola, Vila Morena" was broadcast on Portuguese radio. The playing of that song was a secret signal to a group of rebel officers to move against the regime. By the end of the day these rebels, calling themselves the Armed Forces Movement (MFA), had defeated loyal units and put an end to Portugal's forty eight year old dictatorship.
As news of the coup spread, large crowds gathered in Lisbon and around the country, enthusiastically applauded the MFA officers, and placed carnations in their guns. The celebrations continued for days, prompting the respected Lisbon weekly Expresso to cornment that "in the streets, cafes, city buses, the feeling is of joy. The normally sad-looking Portuguese radiates with the perspective of his country's liberation from a regime which had dominated it for so long.''l
The national euphoria did not last long. Unlike the Spanish transition to democracy, there was no slow and gradual process of political reform in Portugal. After the coup, the MFA was confronted with a tabula rasa: that is, it had to make fundamental choices involving the new type of government, economy and society to be designed. The problem was that in spite of its apparently coherent "three d's" political program, which promised democracy, decolonization and development, the MFA was not a unified body. Some officers wanted reforms, others were in favour of radical social transformations, and still others sought the creation of a liberal democratic state. So, although the MFA's military preparation had led to a swift and successful coup, its lack of political preparation resulted in an extended period of ideological conflict. In the following two year period, there were six provisional governments, two presidents, a failed right-wing coup attempt, a failed left-wing coup attempt, three elections, countless seizures of land and housing, bombings, strikes, demonstrations and still more turmoil. Yet, surprisingly, and contrary to the expectations of most observers, national political players committed to a democratic system managed to prevail and craft a democratic system in July of 1976.

Poor Flower...fell and looks like this...

It was a big scare for the teachers and supervisors at the daycare because after she fell her face was full of blood (from the lip and gum) and they hurry to see how bad it was. Of course she was very well treated. This was in the morning and at lunch she didn't want to eat but in the afternoon they managed to give her some food. At dinner she already ate better but always complaining about the pain.
What I can say is, this is a "collateral effect" of growing up and, better this than something worse and untreatable.

Sun's attending a football players recruitment...
A football coach is going to all the schools all over the city to select the best players for a inter-school tournament. Tomorrow he will go to Sun's school.
Sun likes football a lot and has requested several times to go to football classes but as he was in Judo and quited, then Hip Hop and quited, I told him he has to decide what he really wants. If he really wants football I will think about enrolling him next season.

Health issues vs Special Issues (death)
My father was in bed because, due to medication, he was very sleepy and could barely open his eyes. I must admit he looked like a dead mean. He was laying on his backs, both hands on his chest, very white, eyes closed... Flower was terrified.
Usually she sees her grandfather walking (although with difficulty now), or sat in a chair in the garden or at the table with us, and it was the first time she saw him lying down. She didn't want to look at him, she just hold my neck and was really frightened. I'm glad I didn't take Sun because he gets really impressed with some movies and stories and I guess he would end up thinking about his grandfather has a "dead man".
I guess I have to start preparing the "where dead people go" story. I don't know if my father is going to stay with us for much longer...maybe I'm wrong...but he's getting worse every day.

PRESS RELEASE
Men set to splash it on with the launch of The Aftershave Guide
For Immediate Release
Exeter, UK, 23 April, 2007: A new online buying guide, ‘The Aftershave Guide’ has been launched to help purchasers sniff out the best deals - a price comparison tool is available to help purchasers find the best prices online.
The Aftershave Guide categorises fragrances into three pots – designer, popular and luxury which gives purchasers a fighting chance to logically consider the vast amount of aftershaves available and compare the notes featured in each aftershave. The guide shares information about the smell of the aftershave from first application until the fragrance has been on the skin for six hours.
The Aftershave Guide features the most recently launched fragrances such as Dunhill Pursuit and Joop Go! It also provides information on traditional and popular fragrances such as Aramis, Calvin Klein and Donna Karan.
“We want people to find the scent that best suits them rather than someone buying the latest thing that turns out not to be quite right. Everyone is different and The Guide points out that the first smell of the chosen scent matures over a matter of hours and can become quite different to the original skoosh.” says John Straw, CEO of Net Additions.

Better days will come...
When I was going on my way to the birthday party I mentioned on my previous post (saturday) I received a phone call from my mother saying my father wasn't feeling well. I was already out of town, even if I returned, I'm not a doctor, so I told her to call 911 (here it is 112).
When I was coming back from the B.P. I saw an ambulance coming the other way, I stopped the car and phoned my mother. It was my father that was going to the hospital. I left the kids at home with by husband and went to the hospital. I arrived there at 8pm and left at 1am. 5 hours in the waiting room.
The previous day he had fallen on the floor and had hit a big flower pot with his neck, so probably the nauseas and headache was coming from the fall. The doctor did a scan to put aside the possibility of brain trauma. Nothing was detected beside a previous Brain Stroke that we didn't know about. He's feeling better now but still too sleepy.
Yesterday I was so tired that I took a nap with Flower in the afternoon and at the end of the day I had a big headache, so, I hold myself and didn't post.

I really need a Laptop!!!
As I wrote yesterday I spend most of the afternoon waiting for my dad and hubby's appointment at the Medical Inspection. I spent 2.5 hour in the waiting room with many posts on my head but why bother writing them in paper if I have to write them in the computer again.
Today my kids have a birthday party in a Birthday Center out of town meaning I'll have to wait 2 hour for them, doing nothing.
I really wish I could afford a Laptop right now. I could take it with me and write my posts and check other blogs and comment. I would have more chances to take paid opportunities.
Anyone has a Laptop to offer me? Just kidding...but if you have let me know!! ahahah!!!

Luxury Spa Vacation - That's what I need right now
Well...I just found another Relaxing Vacation - Luxury Spa Vacation.
Yeap...that's what I needed. Vacations.net offers really relaxed vacations for all tastes. Everything from room, meals, drinks, and activities are included in one price, so we don't have to worry about separate expenses.
They have several packages:
* Adults only
* Just for couples
* Family friendly
Of course I would like the Family Friendly package. Although I would be a little busy with the kids, they would have their time occupied with the several activities available for them: Kid's clubs, fabulous pools, even nannies for the little ones.
This would be a memorable vacation.

Not forgotten
During the day I had no time to be in the computer so some posts I had in mind were not written. I had to go with my dad and my husband to a "Medical Inspection" out of town, no one can drive so I have to be the "taxi driver" and miss work for them.
I have a Meme I promised Mimi I would do it. Sorry, I had no time yet.
My Special Blogs post was not written this week...yet.
Let's see how it goes over the week end.

Pain is equal in all continents, in all the countries all over the world.
Here in Portugal, the Virginia Tech. - US college massacre was all over the news. It was in the US but it could be in Portugal. The shock and the pain is felt likewise. We feel for the victims and their families.
On April 30th 2007, the Blogosphere will hold a One-Day Blog Silence in honor of the US victims.
This day shall unite us all about this unbelievable painful & shocking event and show some respect and love to those who lost their loved ones.
What about all the other victims that die everyday around the world? This day can be a symbol of support to all the victims of our world!
All you have to do is spread the word about it and post the graphic on your blog on 30th April 2007. No words and no comments. Just respect, reflect and empathy.

I'm soooo tired....
Since last week I've been thinking, writing, researching in the internet like crazy.
Ranking, Alexa, Technorati, DoFollow, etc. this is a new world for me. Working full time, leaving home at 8.30am arriving at 7pm with the kids it's very difficult to me to keep up with everything. Work and family comes first but I also feel the need to improve my blogs and I can't lie, make some money with them.
Usually after the kids are asleep I come to the computer till 1am - 2am. During the day when I'm working, all my free time I use it to go to the net, check forums, blogs, write posts, etc. Sometimes I even neglect a little the work in order to be able to keep up the blogs. It has been real tough to keep up with all this.
Today I arrived at home at 7pm, my hubby was already preparing dinner, I took a quick bath, gave bath to the children and we had dinner. At 8pm we were done. Hubby took care of the kitchen and I laid down on the sofa. I was sooooo tired. I fell asleep immediatly even with the kids around. I woke up at 9.30pm when hubby called me to go to bed.
I arranged the kids, put them to sleep...and here I am, in the computer again, no sleep now but I feel my body and head need some rest.
I just wished I could live work and work on the net full time.

Flower did X-Ray to her face.
I'm convinced that she has to go under surgery because she snores a lot. When I give a antihistamine at night the breathing improves what makes me think that it is somewhat related to allergic factors.
Right now I can not afford private doctors so we are going to our Family Doctor at the Medical Center. If she (the doctor) realizes that she needs to be seen by a specialist, she will send us to a Public Hospital where I won't pay any fees since Flower is a child. If she has to go under surgery she will be put in a waiting list and we'll have to wait for 1 to 2 years to be called for surgery. Yes, in Portugal we have to wait ages to have a surgery. If you go private it's faster but public...
Every month we discount 11% of our salary for the social security and even so we have no proper health conditions. And...if you want an appointment with your family doctor at the Medical Center, which opens at 8am, you have to be there at about 5am or 6am to get an appointment. If you get there at 8am, all the vacancies are taken.
I will have the results next week or the first week of May. Let's wait for the results.

Beach here we go...
Sunday was a shiny bright (almost Summer) Spring day.
Since my husband's surgery that we don't go to the coast, usually I go with the kids to the park as we did last weekend.
I miss the ocean, I can't stay away from it for too long, so this Sunday the three of us (hubby's can't leave the house) went to the beach.
I took some toys to play in the sand and we sat near a small river on the beach and played for a while. It was a little windy, the sand was all over the place so we came home with our heads and and clothes full of sand.
Afterwards we went for some ice cream and did some food shopping.

Movies - Flushed Away

Movie: Flushed Away
Viewers: Mom, Sun, Flower
This movie is excellent. It made me laugh. I needed to laugh.
Sun already knew the film. He watched it at school in the classroom. He didn't mind watching it again, in fact he insisted. I sat with him and Flow
er on the sofa and we prepared to enjoy every minute of it. Flower was tired at some point and lost interest. After so many animated movies I thought I wasn't going to find it funny but the jokes and all the action is incredible. It's one of those movies I wouldn't mind watching again soon.

Favorite Ingredients Friday (Stewed Chicken)
http://www.portuguesecooking.com/
Ingredients:
4 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, coarsely chopped (about 1 cup)
1 large very ripe tomato, peeled seeded and coarsely chopped
1/2 tablespoon sweet paprika
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 bay leaf
1/2 cup white wine (optional)
1 2 1/2 to 3 pound chicken, cut up, rinsed
3 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 cups converted rice or other long-grain rice
2 teaspoons coarse salt or to taste
1/4 teaspoons black pepper to taste
1/2 cup peas, frozen or fresh, shelled
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
1. Heat the oil in a 5-quart Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add and salte the onions until a light golden color, about 10 to 15 minutes.( This is called "refogado")
2. Put in the tomatoes, paprika, garlic and bay leaf. Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer until the tomatoes are soft and partially dissolved, about 15 minutes.
3. Pour in the wine, if using, and simmer for 2 more minutes. Add the chicken and water, adding extra water if needed to just cover the chicken. Recover the pot tightly and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat and simmer the chicken for 15 minutes.
4. Toss in the rice, salt and pepper. Stir, recover, and continue to simmer for another 20 minutes. Stir in the peas and 1 tablespoon of the parsley. Simmer for 5 minutes more or until the meat nearly falling off the bone. Remove the pan from the heat. Let the stew stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Garnish with additional parsley. The rice should be tender and the liquid should be absorbed.

Table for five: I already wrote about Elisabeth today. Please check this post.
Baby Faith: I started following Holli's blog a few months ago and I got really attached to her family. I love Faith, she's gorgeous and she's 3 like my daughter. I like Holli's writing. She writes what's going on her mind in a special way. I love the way she describes the photos, the events, I love the way she dresses Faith. I love her Cup Cakes. Right now she's going through tough situations and need a lot of support. Hang in there Holli!!
Overwhelmed with Joy: She's an adopting mom, trying to adopt second child. She hosts Favorite Ingredients Friday, usually I participate with a Portuguese recipe. She's very friendly, kind, sweet. You might think I know her personally but I don't, she "sends us" this qualities through her writing. Best luck with adoption #2.

When the going gets tough... the tough get going
During the last couple of weeks he has been under emotional and physical abuse (hitting mostly) by a close friend. We can say it is "kid's playing" but it started being more than that. He has been under great pressure, he has been threatened "not to tell"...or..."consequences".
I had to take some measures a few days ago and I guess things are getting into the right path. I'm not getting into much details here, maybe I'll ask for advice at Maya's Mom. This all situation made me very anxious and nervous and I guess the same is happening to my boy. He's like me, when something touches us emotionally we go down even if we don't want to.
When things are more clear about this whole situation I will write a post about it. It's about kids behaviour and how some kids can hide certain behaviours from their parents. This is about the "close friend".
Regarding my son I guess I'm doing my best to teach him how to handle this situation and how to react towards it. Also I'm letting him know that he can always trust us and he can tell us everything even if someone is telling him not to tell.
I know you might find this post confused but...I'm also confused right now, worried but convinced that I've done and I'm doing the right thing.

Want some beauty information, advice, and Tips?
I must admit, for now, I'm not too worry about aging and I only use facial creams from time to time. But I like to be informed and I want to know what's best for my face, hair, body.
There is this new blog from Peter Belisi "Beautiful Me" where we can find all types of beauty treatments, advices and ideas to improve our image and self estime.
We find information about anti-aging treatments, cosmetic acupuncture, skincare, star beauty secrets and much more.
There is one post that caught my attention right away, "To wash or not to wash, that is the question". I have very oily hair and I'm always looking for tips to keep it less oily and with a fresh look. I find this post very interesting and with a lot of useful information.

Home office needs new Window Blinds
When we arranged the office in November, we used some old curtains we had from our old apartment, but they are really old and I have to replace them. I found some interesting Window Blinds at Terry's Fabrics. I think Roller Blinds are really cute but they give no privacy. Vertical Blinds will be the best choice for us.
When the Roller Blinds are up they expose the room too much to outside viewers. Vertical Blinds offer more privacy and also protect the room from the sunlight. I like the Ready Made Vertical Blinds 54" drop, white color. They are bright, I'll have plenty of light in the office and at the same time the privacy I need.

Back to daily routine.
Today we are back to our daily routine. Well...not totally.
* Due to my husband's surgery he still has to stay at home for at least two more weeks. The stitches will be removed today and for one week he can't make any efforts whatsoever. Than one more week at home and only after, if he feels capable, can he go back to work.
* Flower, that has spent some days at home with dad and brother, returned today to daycare
* Sun, that was on Easter Holidays for two weeks and one day, has returned today to school.
* I'm the one that haven't broken my routine so here I am at work. I continue to be my husband's "taxi driver" once he can not drive (due to surgery) and I have to take him to the doctor and to the treatments.
* Half of my husband's salary from March was still pending but today I was given the order to make the deposit. I'm kind of relieved because I was worried about the mortgage payment on March 15th.
Well, 3 more working hours and I'll be out of here.

Kids "Oil Change"
They are both fine, weight and height is excellent.
I spoke with the doctor about Flower snoring and difficulty breathing during her sleep due to nose obstruction, so I already have the paper to schedule a RX to her nose and face to see if she as a adenoidal problem.
I know it's nothing too serious so I'm not too worried. I went through the same with Sun. He had the same problem at the same age, 3, and he had to go under surgery to remove the adenoids and tonsils.
Let's wait for the RX results.

Easter Day...tradition
Easter Day is very similar every year.
Tradition says the godfather and godmother gives the godson / goddaughter a present in Easter Day. Here we call it "O Folar". In the past the present was a Folar and a additional gift, nowadays the Folar was replaced by Chocolate Eggs and Almonds and an additional gift that can be clothes, toys, money, etc.
Sun received Chocolate eggs and money and Flower received chocolate eggs, a doll and clothes.
I know that in some countries the Egg Hunt is very popular. We don't do it here.
How is Easter Day where you leave?

I need a rest...a sailing vacation would be great
This sailing vacation is a great adventure. I would have activities like sailing, scuba diving. I could relax in the amazing beaches and bays. The blue waters of the Virgin Island are really a paradise. I would eat the gourmet foods, swim, rest, rest...but who am I fooling...I couldn't go without my kids, they are part of me and I wouldn't enjoy this sailing vacation without them.
If I had this unique opportunity to enjoy the luxury Catamaran Scubadu, for sure it would be a family vacation, for the four of us and perhaps same close family.

Favorite Ingredients Friday (Portuguese Easter Pie)
I'm late this week. My computer had a hardware failure and only today I had it back. But here is another Portuguese Recipe. Sorry for those that dislike spinach...but they are really good for our health.
Phyllo pastry, or use the recipe below
500 g (18 oz.) flour

2 tbsp. oil
A pinch of salt
150 ml (10 tbsp.) water
Filling
500 g (18 oz.) spinach
60 g (2 oz.) Parmesan cheese
6 eggs
30 g (2 tbsp.) butter
1 onion, minced
Milk
Salt
Method
Making the pastry
1. Energetically combine all the ingredients for the pastry to make a smooth elastic dough; divide into 18 parts;
2. roll out each part with a rolling pin to form a disk 20 cm (8") in diameter; brush with oil.
Assembly and baking
1. Cook the spinach in boiling water; drain and dry by pressing the water out with your hands;
2. sauté the onion in the butter until softened; let cool; beat 2 eggs in a bowl with a little milk; add the grated Parmesan, spinach and onion and season with salt;
3. spread 9 pieces of pastry in the bottom of a tart mold, letting them come up the sides; pour in half of the spinach mixture; place the hard boiled eggs in a circle; cover with the remaining spinach;
4. cover everything with 9 pieces of pastry, folding the edges in towards the middle;
5. brush the tart with a little oil and a few drops of water;
6. place on a non-stick or lightly buttered baking sheet; place in a preheated 200° C (400° F) oven for one hour; if the tart is browning too quickly, cover with a sheet of aluminium foil.
If using phyllo pastry
1. Brush each sheet with warm oil;
2. reduce the baking time to 20 minutes.
I hope you enjoy it!!!

Not again...my home computer won't work
At the begining of the year I had a similar problem, not the same symptoms but my computer refused to work.
Yesterday, at night, I turn it on, and the F2 / F11 Menu pop up and there was nothing I could do to put it working again. It is still under guarantee so I took it immediately (at 9.30pm!) to the shop. The technician will be there today, I'll call later to know if he can fix it today or not. I guess it is the "board" but I'm not a technician.
I'm at work now, writing from my desk. Tomorrow it's holiday, than we have Saturday and Sunday. I just don't know how I'll go through these days without the computer. I have a few posts in my mind but I don't know if I'm able to write them at work.
Let's hope that the computer is fixed really soon.

Something is going on...
He just complaints about a friend that has been behaving aggressively with him and other younger kids. I really feel that I should warn the parents but at the same time I think I should wait for the daycare director, who is aware of the situation, to inform the parents of this "aggressive" kids, of the situations that are going on there.
I'll wait a few more days and then I'll decide what to do.

Dream Vacation - Disney World
Disney World is a dream vacation for us. Orlando seems to be a wonderful city and the idea of visiting 52 theme parks thrills us. We know that new rides and new attractions are added in a frequent basis and that there are activities for all members of the family including our 3 years old. She would love to see all the Disney characters.
I've checked the Disney World packages and the prices are very attractive, Besides the Disney World theme parks, we would be only 40 minutes away from the beaches. As we also love beaches, we would be able to take advantage of the park itself and the beaches.
We can not afford to go this year, but we are going to try to go in 2008.
What's your dream vacation?

I'm thankful for...the wonderful people around my family
- Due to my hubby's surgery we have been receiving a lot of calls to know how it went, how his doing, if we need help with the kids, with food, etc. etc. We also received visits from family, neighbours and friends.
- I also received many messages with "best wishes" from Maya's Mom community. I will dedicate a post to this great community.
- A lot of help was offered, a lot of people are willing to help with whatever we need. They really worry, they really care and want to show it.
- With my son's bicycle incident I realised that I have true friends among the neighbours. The worry, he suffer I saw in their faces when they saw my son's foot and his crying. The phone calls made to me while I was driving to hospital, while we waited to make the X-Ray, while we waited for the doctor. I saw worry in their voices, so every time I had some new information I returned the call or the SMS. I kept everybody informed because they are also mothers and fathers and they just...worry and care for others.
- Due to my son's incident we missed a neighbour birthday party. So Sunday morning we had a big plate full of cakes slices delivered to our door with "Get Well Soon Wishes". This came from a neighbour we only see from time to time. It meant a lot to us.
I thank you all for your love.

Could have been worse...but it wasn't.
Saturday my son was riding a bicycle with friend in the garden when he stuck his foot on the wheel. I was indoors and I was only aware of that when a neighbor called me to say that my son was crying and that an accident had happened.
I went outside and a neighbour was running with my son in her arms. My son was crying and screaming. Believe it or not I was not really worried. I'm used to his panic when something happens. He had some bruises on his ankle and some marks in the foot. He could move the toes and the foot itself.
I went to the local Health Center ER. The foot was disinfected and the doctor gave me a letter so that I could go to a nearby Hospital to make a X-Ray.
Avoiding some small details and making a resume of what happened in the hospital I can say:
- When we arrived at the hospital the pain was almost gone
- He did the X-Ray
- We waited 2 hours for the orthopedist to arrive
- During the waiting time my son didn't stop walking, moving, the pain was completely gone
- The X-Ray showed that everything was fine
During all this time I was in contact with my husband and some neigbours by phone, that not being near us, where really worried about my son because they thought he had broken his foot.
He never had pain again and everything is fine. He was advised that he should be more careful, "think before he act". Accidents happen but some can be prevented.
This episode made me realize the huge love we have around up. Check next post.

Stretch Marks? Keep them away from your tummy.
I want to give her congratulation’s gift and what best than a product to prevent stretch marks. I know a great product called Tummy Honey Stretch Mark Prevention Butter (or Stick). It is quick and easy to apply. This product is all natural, hypoallergenic, contains no petroleum or lanolin. So it is completely safe and also includes anti-itch ingredients to avoid the pregnancy itching that sometimes kept me awake at night during my two pregnancies.
For my friend I just want to give the best and Tummy Honey Stretch Mark Prevention products are the best.
