Different ways of getting extra income

I keep finding amazing qualities on my son's schoolmate families. Due to life difficulties, specially when it comes to money issues, people tend to find alternative ways to get an extra income.

One father I know is a coffee seller. He has a truck from the coffee company and he sells coffee door to door to companies and stores. When he arrives home at the end of the day, he eats dinner, and he leaves for the taxi station where he works a few hours a night. Two jobs, two incomes, little time to sleep and be with the family.

One mother is a nurse during the day. Late afternoon and weekends she works in her traditional products store where she sell a wide variety of Portuguese wines , cheeses, sausages, jams, sweets, all home made. She also holds a wine of the month club and she prepares meals when specially requested.

One mother works in the office 8 hours a day, do the house cleaning, laundry, cooks, baths and feed two kids and a husband and still blogs a few hours a night. Guess who is this mother: my son's mother. :)

Mortgage Refinance can make your life easier

Most people I know have mortgages, only a few opt to rent a house. With the interests increasing over the last few years, most families are having a hard time paying the monthly mortgage payment. The salaries are the same, the bills just continue to rise and the difficulties are also increasing. Two years ago I did a home mortgage refinance and those that waited for better days, ended up doing the same.

If you are interested in reducing your mortgage, a refinance home mortgage operation is the best choice. Refinance.com is the right place for you to search information and do some calculations regarding refinance. Here you will find detailed information of refinance, loans, rates, amortization, etc.

If you want, you can ask for a free mortgage refinance quote. This is very easy to do, you just have to introduce a few information about your refinance type, property location, and property time and soon you will have the free quote.

At Refinance.com you can find a very useful page, at least I think it's useful, that is the glossary, where you have all the words regarding refinance explained in a very easy, understandable way.

Don't waste time, check now Refinance.com and see what rates are available for you. Make your life easier.

Alternative exercise

Every time we go to my SIL house we find her exercising on her treadmill. Although she has other exercise equipment, after dinner she uses only the treadmill once it doesn't require a lot of effort. She even read a book while using it.

My husband, who is overweight, started talking about his wish to buy one. Well, we checked prices and treadmills are not that cheap (at least for our wallet). Of course there are cheaper models but they are of poor quality. Once we have three different floors in the house I told my DH to go upstairs and downstairs for half an hour everyday, it will make the trick!!

Garage clean up needed

We have a lot of junk in the garage, that's a fact. I have a lot of plastic parts like flower pots, basins, plastic glasses, things I sometimes bring from work as they are no longer needed and they end up giving them away or recycling. Besides this, I have some boxes with new bathroom towels I haven't used yet, glass bowls I don't need in the kitchen, a cabinet hardware, a computer box I no longer need, among other stuff. We really have to spend some time there and clan up. I wish we had garage sales here, I could get rid of most of the things that way, but...that's something people don't do around here.

I'll ask some neighbors if they want some of the plastic parts which are good but that I really don't need, some of the flower pots will go to my mother's house (she loves flowers) as well as the cabinet hadware. All the other stuff we'll see what we can do to it.

Cold and dark Shower

Today besides a complete black out in the house electricity I end up with a cold shower and two kids screaming.

While I was having a shower today, the two bathroom lights just explode making the electric safety device of the house to disconnect. This is a normal procedure when something happens to the house electricity but I would prefer I weren't having a shower. Why, well without electricity we don't have hot water and having soap and shampoo to remove in a cold bathroom with no electricity and cold water running, well...it's unpleasant of course.

Besides all this, my son is terrified of the dark and as soon as the light went off he started screaming, scaring his sister who also started screaming.

Of course DH was around and turned on the electricity power but I hate when I get cold water while showering.

I need more time for blogging

Having little time to blog after my 8 hours on my full time job, pick up the kids, make dinner, laundry, etc. etc, is being a difficult task. I wanted to update my blogs daily but it has been complicated.

I realize that I spend a lot of time going through my feed reader and all the posts waiting there to be read. Most of the time I don't comment but read the posts and get updated.

Entrecard was also that, besides giving a great exposure to your blog, is time consuming when it comes to drop your card and visit other peoples blogs. Of course I end up finding great blogs on the way and add them up to the feed reader.

I'm considering quitting from Facebook. I don't have time to answer all the invitations, to make the quizzes, to compare people, I just don't have the time, I wish I had. This is something I'll have to consider.

Getting more quality time for my blogging is an objective of mine right now, although I'll try to keep up with reading and commenting on other blogs. Let's see how it works.

Blogging, visitors and comments

This is the only blog I have that is not on my own domain, it’s the one I update less and still keeps receiving a lot of visitors.

My only explanation is the key words on certain posts that keep attracting visitors coming from search engines.

Of course those keywords also attract a lot of site owners willing to leave their link to their sites. The comments are most common in older posts. The ones that do not offend anyone and link to sites that end up having useful information are not deleted.

Some of the links left in the comments have the No-Follow tag meaning they are not looking for a reciprocal link, usually I always visit the sites to check the content and only if it is offensive I delete the comment.

I guess site owners are getting used to the no-follow tag and no cerebral palsy therapy is needed to remember them that the no-follow tag can be beneficial for them and the blogger, at least I see these comments with more respectful eyes.

An uncertain near future

My father’s general condition is getting worse. I’m getting used to the fact that his condition will get really worse and that death is a real soon or later reality.

Of course my mother is very worried with his condition, we still don’t know if in a near future we will have to ask for a medicare supplement help like a daycare for elderly. My mother says she will take care of him for as long as she can.

She’s now having difficulty in feeding him and I guess if this continues soon he will have to receive food through a tube. It really isn’t a pleasant future for him and the whole family, specially my mother that is with him 24 hours a day.

Investing and founding

For quite a few years I've been looking to start my own business. The problem: Money. Where am I going to get the money to invest? I never wanted to ask for a loan or a founding because I already have my bills and no spare money to spend in other things. I hope that in a near future I'm able to find some angel investors willing to invest in a business with me.

Donate and make someone happy

Usually I donate or give away clothes and toys that no longer fit or are no longer in use. I also accept clothes from younger children that my kids use, there is no shame on that. If you have items at home that you no longer use, why not make someone happy by giving them to someone that can give them good use.
There are some companies that accept furniture, refrigerators, washing machines and some companies, like Car Angel, that accept cars, motocycles, RV's and even boat donations. Car Angel is a no-profit company that sells the donated items and use the money to make videos for kids and teens. They have already given away more then 2.4 million videos.

If you have an old car or boat don't put it in the trash, donate it and make millions of children happy. Here's an example of what is made with the raised money:
