Tough Times ahead: insurances

June, July and September and difficult months when we talk about money and insurances. Car insurance, life insurance and home insurance are the three I will have to pay and guess what: I am going to try to get a few insurance quotes to see if I can reduce some of them and pay a lower price.

I have already made a list of the companies I will be going to, maybe ask for online quotes and compare prices and conditions.

Life is not easy this days so with a little work from my side I can earn a few bucks with the insurance policies.

Promotional Products needed

As a blogger that lives outside the US it is really difficult to get promotional products to try and review. Customs are a little complicated with products coming from the United States and almost no company sends me products. Of course I can always write a review based on photos and descriptions but that's not the same thing as I would review it if I had the chance to try the product.

I have already received some make up, cream for hands, a pair of glasses, a book and that's it. Food is something I thing I will never receive.

I'm always available to do Giveaways when the gift is sent directly to the winner. This way the product does not have to come to me first.

Cleaning up closets

Finally I had some time to do some closet organization at home. My husband's wardrobe is already organized. All the shirts that no longer fit were put aside and I will give them away to charity. The tuxedo shirt and suit from our wedding will be stored together with my wedding dress.

I'm having a certain difficulty in deciding what to do with my old clothes. Most of the are really old and need to be replaced but there is no money now to buy new clothes for me so...I guess I still have to keep some of the old clothes.

My kids closets are next.

Back pain does not go away

After fifteen physiotherapy treatments my back is worse. I've got a lot of pain on my neck and all the muscles from the neck to the shoulders. The doctor says that I need to relax...ah ah ah, that's easy to say.

I have another appointment on April 7th and I am curious about what the doctor is going to say. I probably have to practice swimming once I can't practice almost any other sport. Stretching is one option but I can only do specific exercises; ellipticals is not a bad option but I have to be careful will my posture and I doubt it will do any good to my back, so I am stuck with swimming.

I thought this pain would go away but I am not that lucky. I'm searching the net for some stretching videos with exercises I can do.

Daily Motivation Secrets that Really Work

Everyday life can be frustrating in today's society. It is becoming more and more difficult for people to find happiness in the world we live in today. But it is important to try to stay positive and obtain daily motivation.

One reason is that it spreads onto others around us. If one person in the workplace is happy and upbeat, it is catching to others. If you are a happy positive person with daily motivation, then maybe the person sitting next to you at work will see it and it will give them, too, a lift.

Another reason to obtain daily motivation is for your peace of mind. Life does have its downfalls, however, we need to focus on the good things about our lives.

We will achieve way more success thinking positive than thinking negative thoughts. We need to try to look at things as they could be not as they are right now.

So how do we go about obtaining daily motivation? Well, there are four practical techniques.

1. Daily motivation books

There are books available for positive reading. You start out each day by reading a daily passage in the positive mode. It starts your day the right way and you can think on it all day long.

2. Daily motivational e-mails

With technology the way it is today, an e-mail a day may be the answer for your daily motivation. There are many websites out there that will send you free motivational e-mail messages.

3. Self help books

There a number of great motivational books that will help a person with daily motivation.

4. Being a good Samaritan

When life looks bleak, look at the next guy. Someone always has it worse than you. Try doing something nice for someone that is in need. It is a great way to fell motivated and positive.

Start out each day by setting goals. Whether it be a goal to get something done that you have been putting off for awhile or setting goals on how to be positive throughout the day. Goal setting is the key to self-motivation.

Positive thinking can only have a good effect on a person's attitude. If a person starts out each morning with positive goal to work on each day, it will encourage that person to be positive throughout the entire day. Daily motivation can be accomplished by something as simple as thinking positive thoughts.

I got a better auto insurance...lucky me

Finally I found a insurance company that offered me a better price than the one I had. I already canceled the auto insurance I had and paid for the new one.

Every year we should ask for auto insurance quotes to compare prices and get a better one. Insurance companies are always offering discounts and better conditions so there is always the chance of getting a reduced price for the same auto insurance. I was lucky with one of my cars, in June I will try to get a reduction for my other car insurance.

Taxes submition time

It's time to do the annual taxes. I have already gathered all the papers of my expenses and earnings and I am prepared to fill in the forms. This time instead of filling in a offline form and then submit it for approval, I will be using the online fill in for directly on the taxes site. I do not need to use paper forms, custom rubber stamps or a special software, I will use my internet connection and do everything online. Much easier than going to deliver the papers directly to the taxes' office.

Pine Trees - The beauty and the ugly

Spring has arrived, the sun is out there, nice temperatures but a lot of wind...well we can't have it all, can't we?

I live in a pine field area and those who know pine tees know that at this time of the year there is a yellow dust that comes from the pine trees and spread all over the place. We have to clean the outside floor, windows and even inside the houses more often to get rid of that dust. Of course it is not a dangerous dust but it can cause severe asthma crisis and other respiratory problems. Nothing compared to Mesothelioma but if the respiratory infections caused by the dust are not well treated severe illness can show up.

Besides the dust factor, living near pine trees like I live it's wonderful. We wake up with the sound of the birds and when it's windy we hear the branches touching each other. Wonderful sounds.

Spring is here

I haven't been in the blogging mood lately. I've got a lot of work in the office and I arrive home too tired. I have to find energy to do my spring cleaning, it seems Spring has arrived and it's time to take advantage of the good weather to do some cleaning and washing. I've got two big area rugs that need to be washed and dried in the sun so I hope the rain stays away from here.

Flowers are flourishing, strawberries are planted as well as tomatoes, turtles are eating again so nature is coming back to life.

Bunions out

A friend of mine is recovering from feet surgery. She had big bunions and at the age of 29 she decided it was time to remove them. The surgery went well, the bunions were removed and now she has a lot to recovery. After 3 weeks of surgery she still can't put her shoes on not even socks. She bought a pair of MBT shoes but for now she has too much pain to put them on.

I've been struggling with my own bunions for years and I never decided if I wanted to go under surgery or not. Although sometimes I have a lot of pain and choosing new shoes can be really difficult for me, I've heard about some surgeries that didn't end up well, so I'm afraid it can happen to me too. For now...no surgery.

Energy Saving Lighting

Finally we have almost all rooms in the house with energy saving lighting. This is something we had to do to reduce the electricity bill and help the environment. The energy saving bulbs are very expensive so it was like a small investment that we hope to regain in a near future by reducing the amount of energy we spend and therefore pay less for the electricity bill.
What about you, do you use energy saving lighting?
