The Five Best Types of Water Your Cafe Should Serve

Many cafes will automatically bring out a bottle of water when customers are first settling at their table, usually it is presented in an attractive bottle and the waiter will pour out a glass for each person without being asked.  This water may have come from a water purifier or straight from the tap.  Serving water is a good idea, especially if customers are also ordering alcohol.  It is also refreshing if customers are sitting outside on the outdoor pavers where it can get quite hot during the summer.

Tap water
Serving tap water is probably not the best to serve to paying customers, unless it is water that has come from a rainwater tank.  Most tap water has been treated and can taste and smell like chlorine to varying degrees.  Some people living in cities may not notice as you do tend to get used to the taste and smell over time but it would be noticeable to someone whose home uses tank water.

Filtered water
Having a water filter put on taps can work out to be cost effective way for cafes to serve water.  Rather than buying bottled water to give out to customers invest in a water filter.  You will find that you will save a lot over time on bottled water even though the filter will cost you initially.  A water filter will remove any chlorine and bacteria which is much better for you.  Filtered water helps reduce the risk of disease and it is extremely convenient having it on tap.

Bottled water
Bottled water is convenient to serve in a cafe, and while you can use it to give to clients as a complimentary glass of water before the meal, you can also sell bottled water and make a significant profit.  It is also a safe product, meaning you can be happy knowing that you are serving customers something that they are not going to become ill from.  It is also a better tasting water than tap water and customers can feel safe drinking it anywhere in the world.

Mineral water
Mineral water is great for cafes to serve as it is refreshing as well as healthy.  Mineral water, as the name suggests, contains minerals which are more easily absorbed into the body than the minerals found in food.  Mineral water can help fight against bacteria and de-oxidise the body and offers significant health and growth benefits to the body.  Mineral water can be served plain or with fruit juice for flavor.  Most commonly found in cafes is sparkling mineral water.

Chilled water
The debate is to whether serve water at room temperature or chilled.  It is said you should drink water at room temperature because it is less of a shock to your body.  On the other hand an icy cold glass of water is refreshing on a really hot day.  Taps can be installed that automatically chill the water, as well as having a tap that can supply boiling water, which is convenient when running a busy cafe.
